The ATX Rent a Car fleet consists of the vehicles displayed on the website. Some cars may already be reserved or rented at the time you browse our online offer. For this reason, the final availability of the selected vehicle will be confirmed by phone by an ATX Rent a Car representative.

Upon vehicle pick-up, the customer is required to check the car’s condition and immediately report any observations regarding scratches, defects, or irregularities. If technical issues arise during use that may affect the safety or integrity of the vehicle, the customer must stop driving and contact ATX Rent a Car Cluj-Napoca immediately.

What’s Included in the Rates

The rental rates include:

  • A limit of 350 km per day – excess mileage charged at 1 RON/km
  • Local taxes (including road tax / vignette)
  • Third-party liability insurance (RCA)
  • Cash or card payment available upon delivery
  • 24/7 assistance and support

What’s Not Included in the Rates

The rental rates do not include:

  • Fuel
  • Parking fees or toll charges
  • Traffic fines or penalties
  • Optional SCDW insurance – Full Casco (available at an extra cost)
  • Optional services and equipment
  • Car washing fees: €10 for exterior cleaning and €10 for interior cleaning (only if the interior is not excessively dirty or stained)

Mandatory Third-Party Liability Insurance (RCA)

All vehicles are covered by mandatory third-party liability insurance (RCA). If the customer does not opt for FULL CASCO insurance, the security deposit will not be refunded in the event of an accident or damage, regardless of fault. The same rule applies in case of vehicle theft during the rental period.

The security deposit ranges between €300 and €800, depending on the vehicle category.

Additional SCDW Insurance

SCDW insurance provides additional protection against damage to the vehicle, whether caused by the customer or by a third party.

In the event of an accident or any incident involving the vehicle, the customer is required to:

  • notify ATX Rent a Car within a maximum of 24 hours
  • provide a detailed report regarding the circumstances of the incident

SCDW insurance is not valid for travel outside Romania or if the accident occurred as a result of non-compliance with applicable laws. For travel outside the country, prior notification of the company and the purchase of a special insurance policy valid in EU countries are required.

⚠️ Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicles.

Situations Not Covered by Any Insurance

The following are not covered:

  • Loss of child seats
  • Loss, theft, or damage of vehicle accessories
  • Damage to the vehicle interior, tires, or underbody components (gearbox, chassis, engine, oil pan) caused by negligent driving
  • Damage caused while driving off public roads
  • Vehicle theft
  • Traffic fines incurred during the rental period
  • Refueling with the wrong type of fuel

SCDW insurance and the security deposit are valid exclusively for the persons listed in the rental agreement who are authorized to drive the vehicle.

General Rental Conditions

  • All rates are set in EUR
  • Payment can be made in RON, EUR, or USD, at the NBR exchange rate on the day of payment
  • One rental day represents 24 hours, calculated from the moment the vehicle is picked up
  • Travel outside Romania requires a special authorization
  • The vehicle must be returned on the date and at the time specified in the contract
  • Rental extensions are possible only with the company’s approval and subject to availability
  • Late returns without prior approval will incur penalties
  • In case of flight delays, the customer must inform the company and provide the correct flight number

Additional Costs

  • Missing fuel upon return: €2 per liter

Additional mileage charges:

  • Economy & Business: 1 RON/km or €0.2/km
  • Premium: 1.5 RON/km or €0.3/km

Driver Requirements

  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Valid EU driving license held for at least 1 year
  • Required documents during the rental period: valid ID card or passport + driving license

Advance Payment & Special Periods

During peak periods (summer season, public holidays), the company reserves the right to request a 10% advance payment.
In case of cancellation or no-show, the advance payment is non-refundable.

Rental Duration

  • Minimum rental period:
    • Standard: 24 hours
    • Peak periods: 7 days
  • Maximum rental period: 45 days

Customer Obligations

The customer agrees to:

  • Comply with traffic laws
  • Not use the vehicle for commercial purposes, competitions, or subleasing
  • Not transport pets
  • Not drive under the influence of alcohol or prohibited substances
  • Not smoke inside the vehicle (penalty between €50–€150)
  • Respect the maximum number of passengers
  • Not leave the vehicle unattended with the keys inside

Accident or Theft

In the event of an accident or theft, the customer must:

  • Immediately notify ATX Rent a Car
  • Not leave the scene of the incident
  • Provide the official documents issued by the Police
